Hired by Macy's Department Stores in their Executive Development Program, launched a 12 year career that included Store Manager, Assistant Buyer, Group Manager and Buyer positions for 3 departments in 47 stores nationwide.
Negotiation of price, terms, delivery, colors, quantities, return to vendors, price changes and exceeding sales goals were daily achievements for Katie . She bought millions in merchandise that arrived on time, was marketed and rapidly sold which prepared her for an even faster pace and more competitive real estate industry.
Spring-boarding from Macys she interviewed and landed a position with PepsiCo even though the hiring VP had no open positions. She was hired as an Executive Designate a fancy name that meant “I want you even though I don’t have a job for you now” for 6 months she shadowed and then escalated to a Franchise Manager responsible for selling concentrate to the entire Southeast Bottlers Association that distributed all Pepsi-Cola brands.
Her expertise as a buyer was relied upon and applied to research, design, presentation and Sales distribution, marketing and sales promotional plans which delivered double digit growth years on end. Recognized for success by her own customers she was honored as Vendor of Year by world famous Compass Food Group. Rapport, listening skills, creative sales programs and retention of clients became her hallmarks as she progressed to Process Improvement Mgr, National Sales Mgr, Field Operations Mgr and landed at Corporate PepsiCo in Purchase, NY as a Director of National Sales for the Pepsi Lipton Tea Partnership.
Both the buying and selling side of her career complete she retired and focused on her family raising three wonderful children, with her husband David, until the business world beckoned her back. Moving to Florida in 2005 their intent was to purchase in Windermere, but her instinct and business savvy guided a hold on a home purchase. Prepping to purchase in 2008 she decided to obtain her real estate license. Using her skill of analyzing inventory, location and demand they purchased on the sandy streets and became residents of Windermere. Since 2010, they have cared for Katie’s parents, until they lost her mother in 2015, but still today joyfully care for her father and are proud Gator parents as well.
If you ask Katie what makes her different from the 50,000 other realtors in Orlando she will say “ I treat my clients checkbook like it is my own” every aspect of a transaction is thought out to strategize optimum results…..research of market demands, recommendations for renovation/prep to market, price determination, marketing, photography, social media, property launches, negotiation of closing costs, upgrades, inspection contingencies and reduction in title expenses are all thought out and negotiated to maximize clients return.
